Meet Your Guides

Nitika Chopra

Nitika Chopra is the founder of Chronicon, a media and events company, dedicated to elevating the lives of those living with a chronic illness.

Nitika was diagnosed with psoriasis at the age of 10 and psoriatic arthritis at the age of 19. She lived over 17 years of her life being defined by her conditions. Nitika now focusses on creating amazing chronic illness events, media and community.

 

 

Lauren Freedman

Lauren Freedman is an entrepreneur, voice actor, writer and activist.

She has lived with depression and anxiety since she was a teen, and was first diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease and sleep disorders in 2017. This sparked her interest in the invisible illness community and she now hosts the incredibly popular podcast Uninvisible Pod.

 

 

Fatemeh Khatibloo

Fatemeh has navigated a high-profile career including her current position as  the Director of The Office for Ethical and Human Use at Salesforce and her former role as Vice President at Forrester Research. She's the go-to commentator for the Wall Street Journal on consumer privacy, data protection and the intersection with Diversity, Inclusion and Equity.

Fati also lives with Hashimoto's disease and will be sharing publicly for the first time her experience of building a corporate career while living with chronic illness.  

Elinor Cleghorn

Elinor Cleghorn’s pain and other symptoms were dismissed for seven years before she was finally diagnosed with lupus. 

In her new book Unwell Women, Elinor explores the misunderstanding, mystification and misdiagnosis of women's bodies all throughout history. 

Elinor is also an ambassador for the wren project. 

Monica Laipple

Thanks to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, one of Monica's super powers is is the ability to start over. She shut down her photography studio of 10 years after becoming disabled by her condition and turned to drawing and writing. She is now a successful author and illustrator of fun, inclusive and entertaining children's books.  

Monica is the co-founder of the Invisible Not Broken Network and currently hosts the Technically Sick podcast.

 

Natalie Suppes

Natalie was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's) in 2007 and struggled for many years. She was in and out of the hospital while pushing through to fulfil her dreams of finishing university and starting her own business. 

Natalie is the Founder of Sick and Successful Creative Media Agency, She is also the Host of the For The Success podcast.

Eva Minkoff

Eva Minkoff is the Senior Director of Community and Education for the charitable organization, Good Days. She's the presenter of Ted Talk titled “5 minutes to fix our broken healthcare system” and host of the [Human]Care podcast.

As a chronic illness warrior herself, with EDS and Fibromyalgia, Eva has spent much of the past decade building supportive platforms for the chronic illness and disability communities.

Dara Shashoua

Dara is a passionate entrepreneur who opened Byzantine Design “The Most Beautiful Tile Store in Melbourne” mere weeks before she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Dara founded A Chronic Entrepreneur to empower other chronic entrepreneurs to share their stories.

 

 

Danica Gim

Danica Gim is a super talented, self-taught poet and artist from the Netherlands. 

When she is not writing or making art, Danica is travelling the globe as a flight attendant and creating awareness of endometriosis on her Instagram to help other women avoid the struggles she faced trying to get a diagnosis.

Her work is informed by her own experience living with a life-threatening autoimmune condition and a chronic vertigo condition. Plus her extensive professional development in somatic therapy, cancer survivorship and women's leadership.
